This journal is the art blog of Brenda Lyons. Here I will post my works that are in progress as well as finished pieces. My online galleries can be found at Windfalcon's Deviantart and Falcon Moon Studio.
I am an artist who loves the world of fantasy more than the real world. It all started with scribbling birds as a child and staring for hours at prints of John James Audubon paintings, wondering why his birds looked so alive.
In May of 2007 I graduated from Rocky Mountain College with a B.A. in art. I will attend the Savannah College of Art and Design in Atlanta this Fall for my M.F.A. in Illustration. I plan on illustrating stories and novels, or perhaps teaching college if that's where things take me. All in all, I wish to be able to live my life painting and drawing the things I see in a world more beautiful than this one.
Artists I admire include John James Audubon, Peter Parnall, Arthur Rackham, Sam Hogg, Angela Sasser, and Stephanie Pui-Mun Law. My inspirations are the natural world, mythology, and those strange, surreal moments you find in the most unexpected of places. Diners and gas stations late at night are portals to other dimensions. Of this I am certain.
